Surgical Facilities

Our Veterinarians' special interest in small animal surgery has led to the development of a program with state-of-the-art surgical facilities including:

Surgical Procedures

Our surgical team regularly performs a wide variety of orthopedic, soft tissue, and elective surgeries, including spay and neuter surgeries any day of the week. Contact our office for additional information about our spay and neuter specials.

Diagnostic technology and interpretive skill is essential to a successful surgical program. Our diagnostic capabilities include digital X-rays, electrocardiogram to monitor the heart, tonometry testing to measure pressure inside the eye, serology, blood and urine chemistries, and a variety of other procedures to identify problems and enhance safety during surgery. If necessary, we are able to send more complex lab work, such as biopsies, to specialized laboratories for analysis.

Pain Management / Pet Pain Relief

Post-surgical pain management in animals is critical, both for a successful recovery and for humane reasons. No animal should be expected to suffer needlessly—ever! Your veterinarian can anticipate the level of pain associated with surgery. Typically, we can expect that the more tissue trauma, the more your pet will experience pain. For example, soft tissue surgeries are generally less painful than orthopedic procedures, which can cause severe and prolonged pain. However, even “routine” surgical procedures are painful and should include a pain management plan. Good surgical technique with minimal tissue trauma may help to alleviate some of the pain associated with surgery, and Morton Small Animal Clinic strives to provide the best surgical care for every patient.

Laser Therapy

Because more and more of our clients are demanding the highest levels of care for their pets, Morton Small Animal Clinic is now offering laser therapy.
Laser therapy has several benefits over traditional and mobility treatments, including very rapid disappearance of pain, even that of neuralgic origin.
The versatility of the laser allows us to treat sore muscles and joints, degenerative joint conditions, neurological pain, chronic non-healing wounds as well as anti-inflammatory conditions. Laser therapy is the future of veterinary medicine, and we feel our clients deserve to have that option when choosing the best care for their pets.

Release Forms

Prior to surgery, please download the necessary release forms to fill out in the convenience of your home and fax or bring with you to your pet’s surgical appointment.

If there is a heaven, it's certain our animals are to be there. Their lives become so interwoven with our own, it would take more than an archangel to detangle them.
